The weekly ‘30’ card game continues in the community centre this Friday, November 3, at 9 p.m. Due to the power outage there was no card game last week. Catering on Friday, November 3, will be: Cait Bradley, Josephine Hendrick, May Larkin and Betty O’Shea; on Friday, November 10, will be: Mary Kirwan, Betty Cullen and Lorna Komsa; on Friday the 17th will be: Maureen Bradley, Linda Duffy and Denise Harler; n Friday the 24th will be: Ellie Walsh and Stella Delaney. Proceeds going to parish funds.

SPLIT-THE-POT

The lucky winner in the splitthe-pot draw on Tuesday the 24th was Mary Kirwan, who received €63. The seller’s prize of €10 in the school was Cillian O’Shea.

CAMROSS DRAMA GROUP

Our festival play has been accepted by five festivals – Goresbridg­e, Moate, Kilmallock, Cavan and Cork. Local performanc­e in Horse and Hound, Ballinaboo­la on Thursday, November 9, at 8 p.m. €10 on door.

WEDDING BELLS

Congratula­tions to Maggie Connors, Woodview Drive on her marriage to Mylie Doran, New Ross in St Abban’s Church on Tuesday, October 17. Wishing them health and happiness in their married life.

PRICKLY ROSE

Reserve Saturday, November 11, for a night of fun and craic. St Abban’s Adamstown GAA Club will be crowning their Prickly Rose 2017 in Adamstown Ballroom. Music and bar on the night.

VINTAGE CLUB AGM

The Shamrock Vintage Club will hold its AGM on Tuesday, November 7, in Raheen at 9 p.m. All members and new members please attend. Anyone seeding reg numbers for insurance for 2018 need to register on that night.

The club will hold its fifth annual ploughing match in New Ross on Sunday, December 3, starting at 11 o’clock, full details later. Proceeds to local charities.

The Christmas party will be held on Saturday, December 16, at Scullys the Maudlin, with a sit down meat at 8.30, a limited no of tickets available, €20. Contact 087 2829722.

ICA GUILD NEWS

The Adamstown ICA held their monthly meeting on October 11. There was a good attendance. Our sponsored walk is on this Sunday, October 29, at 2 p.m. from the community centre, proceeds in aid of senior citizens Christmas party. Any walkers out there come and join us on the day. Raffle was won by Sheelagh, competitio­n was won by Frances. New members always welcome. The hostesses on the night was Cait and Liz.

CHURCH NOTICES

The November Mass for the Holy Souls will take place from Monday, November 20 – Friday the 24th. All Masses at 7.30 p.m. in St Abban’s Oratory. At the end of Mass each person present will receive a candle, which will be left lighting in front of the altar.

Monday, November 20 – Newtown, The Leap, Knockreigh and Coonogue.

Tuesday the 21st – Oldcourt, Brocurra, Doononey and Fairfields.

Wednesday the Tomgarrow, Misterin, and Adamstown.

Thursday the 23rd – Kellystown, Raheenduff, Chapel and the Barracks.

Friday the 24th – Glenour, Ballyvergi­n, Rathsilla and Woodview Drive.

Saturday the 25th – for all those who died during the year. May they rest in peace. November Mass envelopes will be in the Porch of the church, please take one and return with the names of those you wish to have included in the Masses. You are welcome to come every night or any other night.
