Tomorrow, Wednesday is the first day of November 2017 the feast of all saints.

Thursday, November 2, is the feast of all souls, while Friday, November 3, is the feast of St Martin De Porres. Fr Moynihan will visit the housebound in the Newbawn area on Thursday and the Raheen area on Friday, at the usual times.

The October 50/50 draw in aid of Newbawn parish funding took pace after Mass last Sunday. The €500 winner will be made known in next week’s notes. Anyone, who wishes to join the next series of draws May do so now as it begins at the end of November and there will be numerous extra valuable prizes to be won. Half the proceeds is paid out in prizes each month while the other half goes towards parish funding.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament continues every Tuesday in Newbawn church from 10 AM till 1 p.m. And in Raheen on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

THE LATE PATRICK WALL

Much regret was felt around Newbawn and surroundin­g areas at the news of the sudden passing of 30-year-old Patrick Wall Coolboy Newbawn last Monday.

Patrick was rushed to Beaumount Hospital Dublin a few days earlier after he had collapsed while attending Adamstown surgery. Sympathy is extended to his parents Patrick and Eileen, his twin brother Michael and all other relatives and friends.

His remains were removed to Newbawn church at the weekend. Burial arrangemen­ts had not been completed at the time of going to press.

OPHELIA AND BRIAN

The Newbawn area escaped relatively well compared with some neighbouri­ng places when hit by the tail end of two hurricanes Ophelia and Brian within the space of six days recently.

Electricit­y remained on in the general Newbawn area throughout Monday and Tuesday when Ophelia was at its strongest, while
