IRELAND’S GREATEST SPORTING MOMENT, RTE2, THURSDAY 9.30PM

-

What’s your favourite Irish sporting moment? There are so many to choose from. A Kilkenny or Kerry All-Ireland victory, Ray Houghton putting the ball in the English net in Euro ‘88, Packie Bonner’s penalty save in Italia ‘90 or Ireland’s victory over England in Croke Park in that historic Six Nations season.

Des Cahill and Evanne Ni Chuilinn host this weekly debate to decide the most memorable moment in Irish sport, between 1962 - the year of Irish TV’s first sport broadcast - and 2012, with the eventual winner chosen by viewers. In the first programme, Eamon Dunphy, Joe Brolly, Sonia O’Sullivan discuss five moments from the 1980s.
