Herbal cannabis in bedroom

-

Three bags of herbal cannabis came to light in a bedroom when gardaí searched the home of Thomas Stephens (21) from 85 Mount Carmel, New Ross, the District Court was told.

Stephens attended court with his mother to hear solicitor Gerry Flynn tell the judge the defendant had learned his lesson from what happened when Garda Kevin Dooley arrived with a warrant at his door in November last year.

The value of the drugs was estimated at €160 and it was stated that the accused was employed on a casual basis, earning €100 a day whenever he was at work.

Stephens agreed to make a contribution of €200 to the Cornmarket Project on the understanding that he will be allowed the benefit of the Probation Act once the money is paid.
