Davy Fitz to officially open JD North’s bar
THE PEOPLE of New Ross and surrounding areas will be treated to a special night on Friday next at the newest venue in town.
Special guest Wexford hurling manager Davy Fitzgerald will officially open
JD North’s bar and venue. Various sports memorabilia will be auctioned on the night by local auctioneer Mr Des Moloney.
Items will include a signed and framed
Wexford jersey and a framed and signed photograph of the most successful horse trainer of all time Mr Aidan O’Brien.
Local club Geraldine O’Hanrahans will be the beneficiaries on the night. Music will be by Seamus Kehoe.
An old world bar, JD Norths opened on July 7th on John Street. Owner John Quigley said: ‘It is a place reflective of the new energy that seems to be feeding into New Ross at the moment as it becomes a hub for tourism in the south east. The regeneration of North Street itself, with many other businesses appearing in once derelict spaces, shows that business and community are strong in New Ross and the people of New Ross are out in their numbers to support local businesses.’ There is a late bar on weekends upstairs at JD Norths, adding a much needed new dancefloor to the social scene in the town.
