FCJ SECONDARY SCHOOL

BINGO

Bingo is played every Tuesday night at 8.30 p.m. in Rathnure hall. Rathnure Bingo is active on Facebook, search ‘Rathnure Bingo’ and like our page, thank you. The bingo jackpot on Tuesday the 15th is €1,200.

CLOTHING COLLECTION

On Thursday, November 16, help NCBI raise funds for the estimated 224,000 people in Ireland experienci­ng severe problems with their eye-sight including blindness, and bring your previously loved clothing, linen, curtains, belts, handbags and shoes (paired) in a large plastic sack to the school where it will be collected.

No cushions, duvets, pillows, socks or underwear please. NCBI process your donations and sell garments in their 97 shops nationwide. They recycle what they cannot use for resale so your donation avoids landfill.

Rathnure National School will receive an achievemen­t award highlighti­ng the number of bags collected which helps the school maintain its Green Flag. Rathnure National School will also receive money per 10KG filled bag which funds future school developmen­t.

TV’S FITTEST FAMILY

Ireland’s Fittest Family starring the O’Connor Family, Templeudig­an continues on RTÉ one each Sunday evening. Continued best wishes to Chris, Cathal, Mícheál and Róisín.

GAA CLUB NOTES

Motiv8 – We’re gearing up to get Motiv8’d for a second year in a row and are looking for leaders. If you, a family member or friend are interested please contact Paul Barron or Martina Donnellan.

AGM – Our AGM will take place on Sunday, December 9, at 1.30 p.m. in the Syl Barron Room. We invite all members to attend to plan for the coming year.

GAA Club Shop – Open every Friday from 7 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.

Club lotto – The numbers drawn last Tuesday the seventh were 13, 14, 21 and 22. There was no jackpot winner. Liz Reddy, Tomanine, Eileen Furlong, c/o Breda Ryan, Alma Hennessy, Waterford and Mary O’Brien, c/o Bingo, were the four match-three winners who each won €50. The jackpot this week is €15,000 while the reserve jackpot stands at €7,600.

KILTEALY CRAFT FAIR

Kiltealy Voluntary Cardiac Response are having their fundraisin­g annual Christmas Craft Fair in the community centre on Sunday, November 26, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free entry, come along and support your local crafters and soak up the festive atmosphere.

MARTIN O’DWYER RUN

Shelburne United Soccer Club, Ballywilli­am is hosting the Martin O’Dwyer Memorial Run on Sunday, November 19. Anyone with a classic car, modern car or vintage tractor is asked to come along on the day.

Registrati­on of vehicles takes place at 11 a.m. in the Top Place Ballywilli­am and the run will start at midday, there will be a prize for the best turned out tractor and car. Hot food will be served afterwards in the top place Ballywilli­am to all participan­ts. For more informatio­n please contact 087 6826919. of parish funds will take place on Sunday, December 10. Tickets which are now on sale cost €2 each or a book of six €10. All households and wage earners are asked to purchase three books or more if they can afford to do so.

SPECIAL MASS

There will be A Special Mass with Anointing of the sick for the Over-55s in the Parish Hall (Albatros) on Sunday, December 10. The Mass will commence at 3 p.m. and will be followed by refreshmen­ts and an interlude of music and song concluding with the afore mentioned Parish Draw at 4-30 approx. All parishione­rs are invited to come along to the event and renew old acquaintan­ce with their friends and enjoy the music and song.

MEETING CHANGED

The Rosbercon Pastoral Council meeting scheduled for this Tuesday evening, November 14, has been postponed to the following evening, Wednesday the 15th. All members please note the change of date but the venue is still the same, the Parochial House at 7.30 p.m.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL

The St Moling Conference of St Vincent de Paul express their sincerest gratitude to the Tullogher-Rosbercon Classic and Vintage Club for their recent generous donation to its funds. It was most welcome with Christmas fast approachin­g around which time the Conference give a gift of a few bags of coal and other items to people in need.

We cannot forget the late Michael Curran from the Vintage Club, who was one of the main men behind the donations which the club gave to various organisati­ons in the parish. Over €60,000 has been given to charity by the Vintage Club down the years.

The local St Vincent de Paul Council are as follows, Richard McElwee, Mary B Conway, John Kent, Catherine Cotterell, and Séamus Waters.
