The annual candleligh­t Carol Service in Bride Street Church takes place this year on Monday, December 18, at 6.30 pm. Bride Street Church choir will sing seasonal favourites, with readings from the Christmas story.

The carol service has establishe­d a reputation for being an excellent and reflective hour away from the business of Christmas week. Admission is free, with voluntary donation, if desired. after the carol service at St. Patrick’s Church which starts at 6.30 p.m. There will be a gift for every child. They will also have the opportunit­y to meet the elves. There will be a Monster Christmas Raffle and homebaked goodies, plus plenty of festive fun.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT

The Loch Garman Senior Band, under its conductor and Wexford Festival Chairman Ger Lawlor, will perform a Christmas concert as part of the St Peter’s College Past Pupils Union annual Christmas fundraisin­g concert. The band will present contrastin­g programmes of seasonal music and festive favourites.

MEMORY TREE BLESSING

The Memory Tree at Tesco Wexford helps people to remember those who are no longer with us at this time of the year. Cards for the tree can be purchased in store, before this date, for € 2. Money raised will go to AWARE and Wexford Hospice Homecare. Fr. James Cullen will bless the tree along with a local choir at 5 p. m.

WEXFORD PEOPLE WEXFORD ON ICE CACA MILIS CHRISTMAS CABARET

The popular Caca Milis Cabaret returns, this time with a Christmas theme. Featuring an eclectic mix of music, readings and more with some of the best local talent and presented by Helena Mulkerns.

WEXFORD DRESSER PROJECT EXHIBITION

The Dresser Project is a body of photograph­ic and research based work conducted by artist and folklorist Michael Fortune, which explores the stories and peoples connection with the humble kitchen dresser. The exhibition will be opened with a talk by the artist.

AN IRISH CHRISTMAS, NOLLAIG NA NGAEL

Featuring author Cat Hogan, poets Fintan Murphy and Máire Ní Bhriain, Comhaltas musicians from around the county, Bridge Folk & Trad Group, singer Matt Murphy, acapella ensemble Credo, pianist Rebecca Warren, uilleann piper Éanna Harrington and others. Voluntary donations to Arthur and Aodhán’s Fast Appeal.

SOUTH EAST ROCK N’ ROLL CLUB CHRISTMAS PARTY

It’s gonnna be a rock n’ roll Christmas at The Bailey as the South East Rock n’ Roll Club gather for their Christmas bash. Music will be provided on the night by the wonderful Cado , who recently starred in Buddy - The Buddy Holly Musical in The Presentati­on Centre, and his band The Delta Cats. It promises to be a great night of singing and dancing and all are welcome to attend. Tickets are priced at €10.

EXHIBITION: FRIENDS IN TIMES OF TROUBLE – THE LIFE OF WACLAW DOBRZYNSKI

Waclaw Dobrzynski arrived in the newly independen­t Free State in 1929 as the representa­tive of an also newly independen­t Poland and spent almost all of the rest of his life here, representi­ng a Polish government in exile in the post war period. He died in 1962 and is buried in Greystones.
