OUR EXILES

As of now Christmas Greeting cards are winging their way to places as far away as New Zealand and Hong Kong. This novel idea of keeping in touch with our exiled parishioners has for the past few years being organised by the Pastoral Council. The feed-back has been excellent with many contacting by email and letter expressing their joy at being remembered at Christmas time by the people back home.

DOWN MEMORY LANE

Some 60 years ago on December 8, 1957, a group of hurlers from Tullogher made history by winning the club’s first ever Kilkenny Junior Hurling title. In atrocious conditions at Nowlan Park they outscored Young Ireland’s Gowran by 4-4 to 1-3 leaving no doubt as to who were the superior team. Many of that squad have passed to their eternal reward but we name here these men and the living ones who created their own little bit of history in the annals of the GAA in Kilkenny.
