Four IABA boxing awards for St Mary’s

St Mary’s New Ross Boxing Club knocked the competition for four by hooking four awards at the Wexford IABA awards night recently.

The Girl 2 Boxer of the Year award went to Áine Doyle and the Boy 2 Boxer of the Year award went to Séan Whelan. The Under-22 boxer of the year winner was Samantha O’Grady. The club also took home the Ernie Byrne Perpetual Shield for Club of the Year. Club spokesperson Stan Blanche said: ‘We are very proud of our boxers’ achievements over the last year and we hope to have continued success in the upcoming year.’
