ENNISCORTHY WICKLOW

DESPITE the bitterly cold conditions on Sunday, December 10, Enniscorthy played host to Wicklow in the third game in the second year Minor ‘B’ league.

The home team made a strong start and within minutes narrowly missed out on a score resulting from a short corner. Within 10 minutes, Laura Sutton secured the first score of the match for Enniscorthy from a nicely placed pass from Tara Somers.

While maintaining the upper hand Leah Kidd and Rebecca Oglivie soon increased the score to two further goals from two almost consecutive short corners and just before half-time whistle, having made a super run Amy Murphy ensured the home team a 4-0 score.

Rebecca Oglivie had an early opportunity in the second half from a short corner and took it with a super strike on goal.

Wicklow responded and worked hard and were soon rewarded with a score against the home side. A further score from Amy Murphy and a deflection saw Enniscorthy finish with a 7-1 result.

A super game under difficult conditions.
