Groups rewarded forbright ideas

-

TWO County Wexford initiatives were among the community and business groups to be announced as recipients of a share of a €100,000 ‘Bright Ideas’ fund available from KBC Bank Ireland.

The fund supports individuals and organisations that are transforming and improving the lives of others in the locality.

Community Minds in Clonard, Wexford, has been awarded €1,000. The money raised will be used to train individuals as positive mental health and well-being first responders in the community.

A Lifeline SOS in Gorey has also been awarded €1,000. The initiative hopes to place a phone in forecourts of 24-hour garages around the country. Appropriately trained volunteers would be waiting on the other end of the line to speak to those who are feeling low and need someone to talk to.

Aidan Power of KBC Bank Ireland said that providing resources to incredible business and community initiatives helps ensure the future and sustainability of much needed schemes that can sometimes get overlooked.
