The December meeting of the guild took place on the fourth of the month and there was an almost full attendance for this last meeting of 2017.

A good number of members expressed an interest in the 70th anniversar­y federation lunch due to take place on February 11 Members also got some brief informatio­n about a new Seniors Alert alarm scheme due to be introduced shortly. Specially commission­ed ICA scarves are also now available and quite a few members were interested in ordering one.

Final arrangemen­ts for the guild annual Christmas outing were also finalised at this meeting. This year a Sunday lunch in Kelly’s of Rosslare has been organised. The senior citizens’ Party this year is a lunch in the Horse and Hound on Sunday, December 17, In the course of the meeting news came through of the devastatin­g accident on Begerin hill. Guild president, Margaret Ryan, asked members to observe a minutes silence as a mark of respect to the deceased and the bereaved.

The January meeting of the guild will take place on January 8.

CUSHINSTOW­N BINGO

Don’t forget the monthly bingo on the first Sunday of every month. This will be held in the Horse and Hound and is held in Aid of St Mary’s Church Cushinstow­n.

TERRERATH BINGO

Bingo is on every Wednesday in Terrerath Community Centre at 8.15. We would like to thank everyone who supports this event and are always looking more newcomers.

CLOTHES COLLECTION

Terrerath Community Centre are to hold a clothes bag collection in early January, dates to be decided. We would love everyone to support this cause in aid of NCBI (which supports people with sight loss).

DOUBLE BINGO NIGHT

There will be a Special Double Bingo Night in Campile Hall on Monday Night New Year’s Night January 1 starting at eight o’clock at which Prize Money for Nine of the Eleven Games will be doubled on the Night which is over €2,100 in total for the normal admission price of Double book €10 Single book €7 and small book €3 all support would be very much appreciate­d.
