Hope Centre provides a vital service

THE Hope Cancer Support Centre in Enniscorth­y provides vital emotional support for people who have been affected by a cancer diagnosis.

If you have been thinking about contacting the Hope Centre, please do.

Their support is for you, if you are facing a cancer diagnosis, supporting a loved one with a diagnosis, or have been bereaved by cancer.

The Hope Cancer Support Centre is a local service supporting local people. THE FIRST STEP

The team at the Hope Cancer Support Centre understand how difficult it can be to make that first call.

If you have been thinking about it, please pick up the phone to speak to a support nurse, or call in to find out what the Centre does.

Their support is all about listening to you. This happens over a cuppa and a chat in our sitting room. Where you go from there is totally your choice. DRIVING PROGRAMME

Hope to Drive has been launched in 2017 for people who are receiving treatment for cancer. This service will facilitate free transporta­tion for those who are unable to drive or are having difficulty getting to and from the hospital for treatment. Using the Hope Centre car, volunteer drivers will collect and return clients to their homes. Contact the Centre for further details. Breast Cancer: First Thursday every month at 10.30 a.m. Men’s Cancer: Last Thursday every month at 10.30 a.m. Women’s Cancer: Last Wednesday monthly at 10.30 a.m. Caregiver Group: Bi-monthly at 10.30 a.m. (for next dates, contact the Centre) Prostate Cancer and Lymphodema: Bi monthly. The Hope charity shop at Mill Park Road, Enniscorth­y, contribute­s to the running of the Support Centre and helps to provide services to our clients. All contributi­ons to the Shop are greatly appreciate­d. HOPE VOLUNTEERS

The Hope Cancer Support Centre is recruiting volunteers for both the shop and the support centre. Full training will be provided to successful applicants. Call the centre for an applicatio­n form.

The contributi­on from all volunteers is appreciate­d and helps in the day-to-day running of services.
