PARISH DRAW

The Parish Draw was a wonderful success with the profit on same amounting to €7,750. Fr Dan Cavanagh wishes to thank all who supported the draw and generous sponsor, Stafford Fuels. A major repair will shortly take place on St Aidan’s Church in Tullogher and the draw proceeds will benefit same.

CONFIRMATION

The Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation will take place in the Church of the Assumption Rosbercon on Saturday, January 20, at 11 a.m. As there is at present no Bishop in the diocese of Ossory, our own parish priest, Fr Dan Cavanagh will conduct the ceremony. There will be a Preparation Mass for the children receiving the Sacrament and their parents in Rosbercon on Saturday, January 13, at 6.30 p.m.

JUVENILE GAA

In a recent submission to the Kilkenny Co Board GAA for the club Cill Chainnagh initiative the Tullogher-Rosbercon Juvenile Club took the top award. For their efforts both on the playing field and in the management end, the club claimed the supreme accolade, the Three Star Award. Club chairman, Séamus Kennedy, was delighted at the award and thanked the players, committee members, trainers, selectors, and parents of players who all combined to make this possible.

The club will hold their AGM in the club House Brownstown on Monday evening, January 8, at 8 p.m. and all are welcome to attend.

EMIGRANT CARDS

The texts and emails have already come flooding back from our delighted parish emigrants who received their now annual Christmas cards from the Parish Pastoral Council expressing their joy at being remembered by the folks back home.
