Excitement builds for Wexford Has Talent auditions

SINGERS, musicians, dancers, gymnasts, traditiona­l musicians and Kung Fu and kick-boxing performers are among the wide variety of acts who have pre-registered to take part in upcoming auditions for the semi-final of the exciting Wexford Has Talent competitio­n offering a top prize of €2000 in cash and two runner-up prizes of €500 each.

Auditions will take place on Sunday next, January 14 in Clayton Whites Hotel from 12 noon to 6 pm and the judges will include Sophie Wilson, Anita Murphy, Pat Lawlor and Ian Grey who will offer profession­al feedback and support to the competing acts.

The judges will select a shortlist of between 24 and 30 acts who will go forward to two live audience semi-finals at Clayton Whites Hotel on Saturday, January 20 and Saturday, January 27. The successful semi-finalists will perform in front of an audience at the Wexford Has Talent Grand Final on Saturday, February 24.

The competitio­n which has been held annually since 2015 is open to performers of all ages and is free to enter. The overall winner will walk away with a €2,000 prize sponsored by the Wexford People with two runners-up receiving €500 each. Previous winners include the band Fit for Kings, gymnast Tara Doyle Robinson and the Seventh Fret musical group.

Competing acts are being encouraged to pre-register online for an audition place via the website www.wexfordhas­talent.com, to ensure the least amount of waiting time for contestant­s. However, the judges will see all acts who turn up on the day.

Tickets for the fourth annual Wexford Has Talent Semi-Finals are now on sale at Clayton Whites Hotel at €10 each with tickets costing €15 for the Grand Final. All the live shows will start at 8pm sharp.
