COURTOWN

Weather conditions finally got the better of us at the weekend so the course had to be closed on both Saturday and Sunday.

There was very little golf played as a result, with only our Wednesday sweep to report on. However, we hope for more favourable conditions for this week and we can look forward to the re-start of our EBS Colman Doyle-sponsored winter league which is scheduled to resume on Sunday, January 14.

This is how it stands after round five - Section 1: team D, Quigley’s Quorum, on 131.5 points; team C, Hughes’ Heroes on 124.5 points; team B, Wood’s Tigers on 124 points; team A, Butler’s Bandits on 120 points; team E, Donal’s Diamonds on 119.2 points; team F, Mutr’s Marvels on 119 points.

Section 2: team K, Noel’s Knockouts on 128.3 points; team H, Darcy’s Dynamos on 123.7 points; team L, Larry’s Lads on 123.5 points; team I, Eamonn’s Eagles on 115.8 points; team J, Cathal’s Crew on 114.2 points; team G, Doyle’s Demons on 112.2 points.

A few good rounds over the next weeks could change all of the above.

Please remember to post your results after every round as the team score is an aggregate of all scores on the day.

Wednesday sweep, January 3: 1, Paddy Stack (19), 25 points; 2, Tom Ryan (21), 23 points; 3, Leslie Masterson (19), 21 points.
