The lotto draw will take place this Tuesday night. Tickets are only two euro each and can be purchased from the post office Carrig, Seabreeze Dry Cleaners Carrig, Tír na nÓg and from any Club Officer down in the complex. There’s €14,000 to be won with a reserve jackpot of €2,300. It all to play for.

Happy New Year – We would like to wish all our clients, staff, volunteers, and everyone in the community a happy new year. There have been many successful fundraiser­s in Grantstown over the last year and we wish to thank you for all of you who supported us in any way. We survived the Hurricane – Thank you to all that gave us support during this crisis.

Upcoming Events in Grantstown Community Village/Day Care Centre: Tuesday, January 9 – Pongo/Cards in the morning and music, The two Paddies in the afternoon; Wednesday, January 10 – Pongo and Cards/ Nail Painting in the morning and Pamper Session in the afternoon; Thursday, January 11 – Pongo/ Cards in the morning and Cards/ Chair Yoga in the afternoon.

CE Vacancies – Grantstown Daycare has vacancies in the following areas: bus drivers, office staff, carers and maintenanc­e persons. If you are interested in working here and want to see if you fulfil the criteria please contact Grantstown Daycare Centre at 051 561016.

We also need volunteers – If you can give even one hour of your time per week, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for minibus drivers, Meals on Wheels drivers, drivers to transport residents to doctors and hospital appointmen­ts.

A very enjoyable Christmas party was on December 19, with superb catering by David and Cindy Chapman, cheese and wine reception and beautiful prizes for everyone.

Bridge resumes on Tuesday, January 9, at 7.30 p.m. Wishing all members a healthy, happy and peaceful new year.

DANCING

Dancing continues in Tír na nÓg every Thursday night with music this Thursday, January 11 by Tom Murphy, Thursday the 18th Bandit and Thursday the 25th by Southbound. All welcome – refreshmen­ts served.
