We now have 10 garda recruits in Ross

THE NEW ROSS garda force is being bolstered by the addition of two new garda recruits this week, bringing the number of new additions to the station to ten since September.

Probationary gardaí started their careers in New Ross Garda Station in December. They followed the arrival of six new gardaí to the station in September.

Inspector Syl Hipwell said the arrival of the 10 new gardaí has made a massive difference to the station and the ability of garda management to allocate resources of fighting crime in the area.

‘It makes a big difference. It’s a breath of fresh air into the place. We have two extra gardaí for each unit, which was previously manned by three gardaí,’ Inspector Hipwell said.
