Rising soprano star Clodagh’s Ross recital
RENOWNED Irish Pianist Finghin Collins is giving a recital on Sunday, April 15, at 3.30 p.m on behalf of the Ros Tapestry exhibition with Clodagh Kinsella, award winning Wexford soprano at St Mary’s Church.
Collins is Artistic Director of New Ross Piano Festival and visits New Ross regularly.
Clodagh Kinsella, who hails from Clonleigh, has just completed her B.A in Vocal Studies in the Royal Irish Academy of Music with a First Class Honours and is now in her first year of a MA.
Her solo concert appearances include Mozart’s Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, Haydn’s Stabat mater, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Handel’s Messiah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Orff ’s Carmina Burana, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Mozart’s C Minor Mass, Mozart’s Requiem and Handel’s Gloria.
Clodagh has performed in various venues around the country including the Round Room at the Mansion House, Trinity Chapel, The National Opera House, St Patrick’s Catherdral and Christ Church Cathedral. She has won numerous competitions in Dublin Feis Ceoil, Sligo Feis Ceoil and Arklow Feis Ceoil.
Clodagh has performed with numerous choral societies as a soloist including Bray Choral Society, Enniscorthy Choral Society, Carlow Choral Society and Wicklow Choral Society.
Operatic roles include Second Soprano in Monteverdi’s Tirsi e Clori with RIAM, Zweite Dame in Mozart’s Die Zauberflote with RIAM, Les Enfants in Massenet’s Werther with Opera in the Open, Titania in Purcell’s Fairy Queen with RIAM.
Her latest title role as Sandrina in Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera.
With the RIAM Clodagh has gone on trips to Budapest to perform Tirsi e Clori in the Liszt Academy and New York as a solo singer.
In November, Clodagh sung in the Rising Stars Platform series in the RDS Concert Hall, travelled to New York to perform at the annual gala dinner of the American Irish Society and was awarded first place in the Irene Sanford Singing competition, winning a bursary award of €2,000.
