Aoife’s to the ‘four’ for Bridge Rovers

Bridge Rovers 6, Tombrack United 2: In this clash of two of the top Division One sides, Bridge Rovers moved through to a quarter-final meeting at home to Fastnet with this 6-2 victory.

Kate Tomkins scored both goals for the visitors, but four goals from Aoife McEldowney and one each from Amy O’Toole and Kiera Carroll saw the home side through to the last eight. Murphy and Jolie Rankin saw All Blacks leave Ferrycarri­g with all three points.

Curracloe United 5, New Ross Town 1: This division now looks like it will go right down to the wire after Curracloe overcame leaders New Ross Town 5-1 to join them at the top of the table.

In a game that was much closer than the scoreline might suggest, it was Curracloe’s ability to take their chances that was the difference between the sides.

Saoirse O’Neill was on target for the visitors, but goals from Zara Corrigan and Ciara Whelan as well as a hat-trick from Polly Redmond saw Curracloe take a very important victory. 0: The home side edged to the top of a very competitiv­e division when they narrowly overcame Rosslare Strand in heavy rain on Saturday morning.

Julie Carroll-Morrissey scored the only goal of a very closely-contested game where both sides produced some excellent football despite the difficult weather conditions.

Bridge Rovers 0, New Ross Town 5: New Ross Town’s second team kept in touch with leaders New Ross Celtic after this 5-0 win away to Bridge Rovers.

Two goals each from Katie Lawlor and Amy Purcell as well as one from Sarah O’Leary gave the visitors their fourth league win of the season.
