BALLYMITTY HALL

Dates for Diary: Easter Arts and Crafts Class – Easter Arts and Crafts Class in Ballymitty Hall, taking place over two days, Sunday, March 18, and Saturday, March 24, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Decorate a Vintage Birdcage and learn how to decoupage eggs and candles for Easter and upcycle jars. €20 to cover cost of materials (incl. Birdcage). Take home your crafts for Easter. ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

It’s time to get working on your float for the annual Carrig-on-Bannow St Patrick’s Day parade, taking place at 2 p.m. on March 17. If you participat­ed in last year’s parade we would like to thank you and we also extend an invitation to join us for this year’s parade. We welcome all businesses, community groups and others. DANCING

Dancing continues in Tír na nÓg every Thursday night from 9 p.m. in aid of Ballymitty handball club no dance this Thursday, March 15, but join us on March 17 St Patrick’s night with music by Dick and Ted, March 22 Michael Ellard, March 29 Tom Power the Latchico Man from Westmeath. Note: bigger dance bands appearing on the last Thursday of every month. Adm €7 all welcome refreshmen­ts served.

SYMPATHY

The handball club would like to extend sympathy to their chairman and secretary Séamie and Allen O’Neill and the extended O’Neill Family on the death of their father Jim O’Neill Duncormick recently. May he Rest In peace.

TABLE QUIZ

There will be a table quiz in aid of Little Sea Musical Society on Tuesday, March 27, in Tír na nÓg, Wellington­bridge at 8.30 p.m. €10 per person; €7 for children. Refreshmen­ts will be served. Please support this local cause.

TIDY TOWNS QUIZ

The table quiz in aid of Wellington­bridge Tidy Towns has been reschedule­d to be held in Tír na nÓg pub on Wednesday, March 14, starting at 8.30. Table of four €20, lots of prizes, all welcome.

The Bannow-Ballymitty Ladies’ Football club have entered Adi Roche O’Leary into the Talent Competitio­n that takes place in the Horse and Hound on Friday, March 23. Fifteen Clubs are taking part. EASTER MARKET

We will be holding an Easter Market in Grantstown Daycare Centreon March 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ladies – if you have any Clothes in Good condition that shrunk in the wash. or you just don’t wear anymore we would love to take them off your hands for our clothes stall. Or if you want to donate some of your husband’s clothes to make more room in the wardrobe for yours that would be good too. We also need bric-à-brac, Tools, Furniture, anything really from a needle to an anchor that is sellable.

Anyone, who has anything that they want to sell can put in their own stall for a small fee. We would really appreciate your support as any money raised will go towards the purchase of a new Drier for our Laundry. Phone 051 561016 for more details or to book your stall in the Market.

The journal committee are looking for articles, photos, graduation photos or anything of interest for this year’s Journal. Contact any committee member or leave into PO. open each day of the St Patrick’s Bank Holiday weekend. We have original paintings, photograph­ic pieces, framed and unframed, a selection of basketry, and a selection of fairy cottages, greetings cards, and a small number of artists supplies. We will open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day of the bank holiday weekend.

This year we celebrate 20 years of the Cockleshel­l Art Project on a not-for-profit basis.
