DISCO

There will be a teenage disco in Campile Hall on Friday, March 30 (Good Friday Night) for first to third years. It takes place from 9 p.m. to midnight. Doors open 8 p.m. and strictly no alcohol or drugs allowed.

This is a fully supervised event.

DAFFODIL DAY

There will be a coffee morning in Gusserane Hall on Friday the 23rd march for Daffodil Day from 9 a.m. Everybody is welcome to attend and if anyone would like to bake or to pick or sell daffodils on the day for the Irish Cancer Society we would be delighted. If you wish to get involved or help in any way contact Margaret at 087 1331779.

FASHION SHOW

Tickets are now available for the Gusserane Ladies’ Football Fashion Show in Horse and Hound on Thursday, March 22, There will be a Prosecco Reception at 7.30 p.m. Lots of style will be on show with various shops involved. A golden ticket is up for grabs for a spa day in Monart. Tickets for the night are €15 and are available from any club member or intermedia­te player. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates on a night not to be missed.

CARDS

Winners in the hall in Gusserane last week were Jamesie Wallace, Pat Murray and Johnny Colfer. Second went to Johnny Flynn, Peter Stafford and Luke Power. Larry Larkin, Joe Ryan and Jimmy Larkin came third while Tom Culleton, Brendan Colfer and Billy Shannon were fourth. The LGD went to Johnny Larkin, PJ Doyle and Jim Kehoe.

Raffle winners last week were Jimmy Cullen, Pat Whelan, Margaret O’Neill, Tom Corcoran and James McDonald.

LOTTO

There was no jackpot winner in the Tintern lotto last week when the numbers drawn were 1, 9, 16 and 26. The match-three winner was Jane Drought of Killesk. This week’s jackpot now creeps up to €5,450.

AWARDS NIGHT

Congratula­tions to John Roche of Clonmines on receiving the New Ross District GAA award recently when he was deservedly nominated by the Gusserane club. Well done also to John Whelan from Ballygarva­n, who received a special award on the same night for his achievemen­ts in world ploughing last year. The event was held in the Horse and Hound on March 10.

SYMPATHY
