Days in the life of Jesus Christ
A millennium community project, the Passion Play was produced in Camross in 2000 and following its huge success it was decided to stage it again in 2006, 2012 and now in 2018. 2000 saw the show reviewed on RTE’s ‘Ear to the Ground’.
In 2008 it also featured on RTE with a Good Friday performance from St Aidan’s Cathedral in Enniscorthy, and in 2012 found its way to the world famous National Opera House in Wexford. In 2010, 55 of the cast travelled to Oberammergau to see it performed there.
Some of the faces may have changed, but many of the original cast are still performing, including Margaret Crosbie, who recently attended the Gaiety Theatre, where over 50 women who had played the part of John B Keane’s ‘Sive’ were celebrated.
This creation brings together a large community from Taghmon parish and beyond.
From the first night of rehearsals, a wonderful sense of community has engulfed the operation, with fantastic friendships formed, and a great sense of cameraderie nurtured. The event is a true community project.
Tickets are €12/7 and are available now from 086 8369 047 or 087 699 0031.
