Factories need to be ready for tenants – Cllr

PLANNING ahead for a second advance factory in Butlersland, New Ross, is vital, Cllr John Fleming said at a recent meeting of New Ross Municipal District council.

He said: ‘I know there is planning for one factory which is at tender stage. My reason for asking is I believe a client can be secured for the first factory relatively quickly as the IDA were involved in the design and would be aware of what is needed to attract a company. I think it would be prudent to have planning permission obtained for a second factory and maybe advanced to tender stage so if a second company comes along there will be no unnecessary delays.’

District Manager Sinead Casey said planning was approved for both factories.
