Kicked man in the head on day of child’s christening
A 21-YEAR- OLD father of two marked the christening of one of his children by kicking another man in the head.
Brandon O’Brien from 14 Daphne View, Enniscorthy pleaded guilty to assault causing harm to Jack Hanley at the Bellefield GAA complex on November 20, 2016.
The defendant’s victim was left bleeding from a cut to his right eye and a fractured tooth.
Solicitor Ian Bracken said that his client became involved when an unwanted individual arrived at the christening party in the complex and was in dispute with the child’s godfather.
The injured party was put on the ground at the bottom of the stairway in the reception area when O’Brien struck out with his foot.
The defendant, whose partner was present at the District Court sitting in Gorey, was described as a full time parent.
A seven month sentence was suspended by Judge John Cheatle who put the accused under probation of supervision staff.
