Third annual Country Music Festival launched by Denver

- BY ANNA HAYES

THE SOUTH East Country Music Festival committee has announced the line-up for the third annual festival which takes place at the Bannow and Rathangan showgrounds in Killag, Duncormick on Sunday, July 22.

The headlining act at this year’s festival will be Mike Denver and his band. He will be supported by four other well-known artists in Jimmy Buckley, Lee Matthews, Cliona Hogan and Gerry Guthrie, with backing by Galway band, The Conquerors. The festival is organised by Kilmore and Rathangan parishes, to raise money for their respective development funds.

Mike Denver’s recent concert in Enniscorthy gave the committee the chance to officially launch the festival, in the headliner’s presence, who said he was looking forward to the festival, and to performing in the sun of the sunny southeast!

The site in Killag is easily accessible with plenty of onsite parking. There will be catering facilities, a full bar, and children’s entertainment throughout the day. There will also be a large, 1,000sqm dance floor for those hoping to show off their dance moves.

The event runs from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the day. Tickets are on sale now and are €25. Kids under the age of 12, that are accompanied by an adult, are free of charge. Tickets are available online at www.tickets.ie and from other outlets as advertised on the festival’s Facebook page and website - www.southeastcountrymusicfestival.com.
