ST MOGUE’S CELEBRATES A MOMENTOUS YEAR

- By ESTHER HAYDEN

There was a celebratory atmosphere in the Brandon House Hotel recently as St Mogue’s GAA club held its annual dinner dance.

The Fethard club has had a very successful year culminating in winning the Leinster Intermediate Final and reaching the All Ireland final of the same competition.

Manager of the Intermediate hurling team Lorcan Bardon said the dinner dance had been a great success with people turning out in force to make the momentous year.

‘It was a brilliant night and everyone really enjoyed themselves. There was a great atmosphere in the hotel. It was great to see such a big crowd there because we had had to rearrange the night. It had been due to go ahead during the bad weather associated with Storm Emma and the Beast from the East but obviously that had to be cancelled.

‘On the night we had the presentation of medals to all the players and we had all the cups that we won over the course of the year displayed on the table. It was quite an impressive display because there were a good few cups as in addition to winning the Leinster title one of the Feile teams won the All Ireland title.

‘It was a great year for the club and I think that everyone wanted to be part of the celebrations.’

The guests of honour at the night were the All Ireland intermediate finalists who were joined by their friends and family members.

The celebrations continued on until the early hours.
