Cottage Autism Network (Ltd) is a local Wexford charity run by volunteers, that provides a range of supports to families impacted by autism spectrum disorder.

April is Autism Awareness Month and Light It Up Blue is a global initiative that kicks off Autism Awareness Month and helps raise awareness about autism. Many iconic landmarks throughout the world light up in blue to raise awareness.

A billboard will also be placed at the bridge in Wexford Town for the month to support Autism Awareness Month.

New Ross Library in association with Cottage Autism Network will be holding a talk on Tuesday, April 24, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wexford Library on Thursday, April 26, at 7 p.m. about how CAN started, some need-to-know facts about how autism may impact someone and what the community can do to accommodate that person.

There will be an extensive resource list available and a question and answer session to finish.

CAN runs activities in New Ross and in Wexford town for children diagnosed with autism and also their siblings. These regular activities include soccer, lego, yoga, coding, drama and sensory friendly cinema screenings. These are financially supported by fundraising done by CAN.
