Ninja will be hard to beat GREYHOUNDS
THERE WAS big anticipation in the second round of the Red Mills Easter Unraced Stake at Enniscorthy Greyhound track, and patrons were not disappointed with some excellent runs recorded.
Ninja Burgess, who was noted last week after overcoming some crowding, made no mistake this time as he showed very good early gears to lead in heat three.
He left his field in his wake as he raced home a clear eight and a half lengths to the good in a best of the night 28.68, and this highly thought of novice is going to be hard to beat.
It’s Scientific was the big attraction in heat four as he made a big impression last time after a very bad start.
He was sold to the Paul Hennessy kennel, now running as Boylesport Boom, and he was much better from traps this time and raced to a clearcut twelvelength win in a fast 28.76.
Fawn Tango was another to catch the eye the previous week, and he also benefited from his first outing.
Taking control off the second bend, he raced to a good win by three and a half lengths in an impressive 28.95, completing a double for Barntown owner George Roche who had earlier scored with Reckingball in the first race.
This stake is living up to its reputation of producing top-class trackers, and there will be some cracking races to come in the next few weeks before we have the outright winner of this prestigious €4,000 prize.
