FETHARD ST MOGUE’S

Tickets for the annual club and County Draw are now available. With €80,000 in prizes over three draws this is a very attractive draw. Tickets cost €50 each for the three draws or can be paid monthly also. This is a very valuable fundraiser for the local Fethard St Mogue’s GAA Club and your support would be very much appreciated. Ticket sellers will be calling to your door shortly or tickets can be purchased from any committee member.

The senior footballers played St Martin’s in the first round of the championship last weekend. Fethard took an early lead through a John Tubritt free but St Martin’s struck back through a goal two minutes later and were well on top for the rest of the half going five points clear. Two more points from John reduced the lead but it was almost 30 minutes later before John got Fethard’s next score by which time the trailed by eight points. Short five regulars and with a number of players making their debut at senior level it was a disjointed effort from Fethard, who lost by 1-10 to 0-6 in the end. They played St Anne’s in the second round last Sunday in Wexford Park, full report in next week’s paper.

The intermediate hurlers play Monageer in the first round of the championship next Friday evening in Bree at 8.30 p.m.
