A total of 70 businesses have been shortlisted in the 10th annual County Wexford Business Awards which showcase the best of what the county has to offer.

The shortlisted companies, many of which have entered for the first time, will go through the final interview stage in Clayton Whites Hotel this Wednesday, April 25.

The judges will score each application on multiple criteria and the winners and runners-up will be selected across 18 different categories with the winner of the prestigious Overall County Wexford Business of the Year Award chosen from the winners of each award category.

The indepth selection process will be independently judged and based on predetermined criteria and the judging panel will consist of two judges for each category, with one representative from each category sponsor and the second being an expert in their field, including representatives from Diagio, IDA, Small Firms Association, National Standards Association, Bord Bia, IT Carlow ESB Ireland, WIT and IADT.

The 2018 shortlist includes some names that have featured in the Business Awards before, including some past winners. All the categories attracted a high standard and volume of entries.

The County Wexford Business Awards are organised by Wexford Chamber in partnership with Wexford County Council, Wexford People and the Environmental Protection Agency to celebrate the South East being home to some of the most innovative and entrepreneurial businesses in the country and to recognise the major contribution that they make to the local and national economy.

‘We were absolutely delighted with the broad range of business submissions for the awards this year’, said Wexford Chamber CEO Enda Kavanagh.

‘ The support we have from businesses across the County in terms of applications and sponsorship has been phenomenal. The very best of luck to everybody, you are all winners insofar as Wexford Chamber is concerned’, she said.

The winners in each award category and the overall winner of the County Wexford Business of the Year Award will be announced at a black tie gala awards ceremony in Clayton Whites Hotel on Friday 25th May. The top award is sponsored by Wexford County Council.
