Juvenile change of date ATHLETICS
A PROBLEM has occurred regarding the availability of the track at Enniscorthy Sports Hub on Sunday, May 6, for the first day of the Wexford Juvenile track and field championships.
The event will now go ahead on either Saturday, May 5, or Bank Holiday Monday, May 7, with the date to be confirmed.
The 2018 Athletics Ireland Congress takes place in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, on April 28.
Among the motions is one from Wexford that ‘ages of Novice and Intermediate must be 18 years of age or over on December 31 in the year of competition as per the Senior age groups’.
Coaching: April 28 and 29, Level 1 coaching course for Special Olympics coaches, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. Time: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Price: €100.
Monday, April 30, officials’ course, Enniscorthy Sports Hub. Time: 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Regional Coaching Director Colin Byrne leads this course.
This will be of huge benefit to club officials and coaches in terms of providing the skills to officiate at events. No pre-registration is required, just turn up on the night.
May 5, Athletics Leader course, Astro Active, Enniscorthy. Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Price: €60.
