ST JAMES’ GAA LOTTO

There was no winner of the €4,400 jackpot in the draw last Tuesday. The winning numbers were 10, 25, 27 and 30. St James Club had one match-three winner: Mary Rose Ryan, Boderan, who won €50. Jackpot for the next lotto draw on May 1 will be €4,700. Lotto tickets are available from committee members and local shops and pubs.

ALZHEIMER’S TEA DAY

St Louis Day Care Centre are hosting there annual Alzheimer’s Tea Day on Thursday, May 3, from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. All proceeds go to the Alzheimer Society Of Ireland. Please Drop in and support this worthy cause.

5K SPONSORED WALK/RUN

The 5K Sponsored Walk/Run takes place in JFK Memorial Park and Arboretum on Sunday, May 20, at 10.30 a.m. We hope to raise funds for the on-going upkeep of the St Louis Day Care Centre. Registrati­on on the day or at gofundme.com/5k-sponsoredw­alkrun. Entry fee €10. Children under-16 free.

CONGRATULA­TIONS

Well done to the Duncannon N. S Quiz Team, who won the county finals of the Community Games in the Ferrycarri­g Hotel on Monday night. Aoife O’Connor, Sophie Doyle, Molly Dillon and Dan Nolan were representi­ng the ‘Ring of Hook’. The Duncannon team will now go on to represent Wexford in the national finals at the university of Limerick at the end of May. We wish them the very best of luck.

Duncannon N. S. fielded three teams in this event so well done to all the children involved who put in such a sterling performanc­e: Sarah White, Cora Foley, Luke Amos, Aaron Ely, Emily Corcoran, Caoimhe O’Connor, Cormac O’Connor and Eva Donnelly.

The children would like to thank their teachers Ms Helen Wall and Mr Martin Lyons for all their hard work and of course their parents.

TEENAGE DISCO

There will be a Teenage Disco in Campile Hall, on this Friday night, April 27, for first to third year students, from 9 p.m. to midnight Doors open at 8 p.m. – Admission €8 – strictly no alcohol or drugs allowed. This is a fully supervised event.

ABBEY LADIES GOLF

30 Abbey Ladies took to the fairways of Rathaspeck Manor Golf course last Saturday. Fine weather prevailed, rain stayed away. The course was in good condition considerin­g the continuous rain we had of late. It had to be due of course to the hard work of Michael Cuddihy to keep it in good shape.

A shot gun start gave rise to shot gun shooting as great scores were returned. Finishing practicall­y together after a shot gun start, all retreated to the club house for a social get together and refreshmen­ts. A great selection of cakes and buns were enjoyed by all, thanks to Anne O Grady who generously made and provided the confection­ary. As per usual all 30 returned cards were checked by Brigid Doyle and Paula Donoughue, thanks girls. The captain then read out the awaited scores as follows:

1st Bgt. Murphy (19) 36pts. 2nd Adeline Foxe (25) 31pts. 3rd Mary Fogarty (28) 30pts.

Category 1 Ann Banville (18) 29pts. Category 2 Sheila Chapman (24) 28pts. Category 3 Rosarii Donovan (35) 28pts. Nearest the Pin Marie McWilliams 8ft. 9ins. Nearest the Pin Maryrose Ryan 24ft. The sole birdie winner was Brigid Doyle who gained a nice sum of £ 83 euro, well done Brigid!!! Winners of green fees sponsored by Michael Cuddihy, Rathaspeck Golf course were as follows: 1 Liz Kelly, 2 Sara Kennedy Doyle, 3 Ann Sutton.

Next outing is on May 11 in Abbey Par 3. New members always welcome.
