The senior footballers played St Anne’s in the second round last Sunday in Wexford Park, despite putting in a much improved performance they still ended up on the losing side and face into the break without any points on the table. Had a John Tubritt shot not hit the foot of the goal post it would have put Fethard four points ahead early on. Five unanswered scores from St Anne’s including a goal mid way through the half left them leading by four points at the break. Fethard kicked nine points in the second half but the concession of two further goals left them with a mountain to climb as they trailed by eight points at one stage. They missed two scoreable frees while Richard Waters saw his shot graze the crossbar as they lost out 3-7 to 0-12 in the end.

The junior footballers played Cushinstown Sunday evening and led by two points at the break. However Cushinstown rallied in the second half to win in the end.
