CAMOGIE/LADIES FOOTBALL

Underage training is now getting under way in the pitch on Wednesday evenings, please be extra vigilant when entering and leaving the pitch. Times are as follows.

Camogie: under-6s – 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.; under-8s – 6.15 p.m. to 7.15 p.m.; under-10s – 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.; under– 6.45 p.m. to 7.45 p.m.; under-14s – 7 p.m. to 7.45 p.m. (also train Fridays); under-16/Minor/Junior – 7 p.m. to 7.45 p.m. (also train Fridays)

Football: under-10s – 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. (Saturdays only); under-12s – 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (Saturdays only) under-14s – 6.15 p.m. to 7 p.m. (also train Fridays); under-16/Minor/Junior – 7.45 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. (also train Fridays)

COMMUNITY GAMES

Art and Handwritin­g County Finals – Well done to Grace Bolger, who came third in the under-10 girls art, and Tara Nolan, who was placed second in the under-16 girls art.

INDOOR SOCCER – Well done to Aoife Byrne, Aoife McDonald, Lori Bolger, Mia Walsh, Peig Waters, Eibhlin McHale, Katie Mae McCarty and Neala Barron, who represente­d their county in the under-13 Indoor Soccer Leinsters in Carlow. They put up a good fight but unfortunat­ely lost out to Tullow/Grange. Also well done to all from the Community Games Committee.

CUSHINSTOW­N ICA

The April meeting of the guild took place on Monday, April 9. Guest for the night was Garda Crime Prevention Officer, Sgt Brendan Moore, who gave us many tips and hints as to how to avoid becoming victims of crime.

This meeting was also the AGM of the guild. The outgoing president, Margaret Ryan, gave a report on the highlights of the previous year. She thanked all the other officers for their hard work during the year and the pleasant manner in which they carried out their duties. She remembered with sadness the loss of our valued member, Teresa O’Keeffe, in September.

The following officers were elected for 2018-2019. President Rita O’Brien, Vice-president Mgt Ryan, secretary Sarah Buckley, treasurer Mgt Byrne, Competitio­ns Sec Lilian O’Hanlon, Social Committee Mgt Ryan,/Alice Bourke/Mary Grace, Guests Cath Leacy, PRO Kitty Warren, Timire Mary Donovan.

5K FUN RUN/WALK

Terrerath Parochial Committee in associatio­n with Rathgarogu­e-Cushinstow­n GAA Club are holding a 5k Fun Run and Walk on Bank Holiday Monday, May 7, in Terrerath from 11 a.m.

Registrati­on takes place at Terrerath Community Centre from 10 a.m. to 10.45 a.m. Cost €10 per Person. There are nine race categories with two Team Races A) GAA Club Team of three Race (Must be registered club member and wear a club jersey, any queries contact Terence at 085 7575134), B) Family Team of three (Must have at least one female). First Female, First Male, First Junior under-20, First Over 35 Female, First Over 35 Male, First Over 45 Female and First Over 45 Male.

FASHION SHOW

Bingo is on every Wednesday in Terrerath Community Centre at 8.15. We would like to thank everyone who supports this event and are always looking more newcomers.

Tickets for the split-the-pot are at €2 and are available locally and will be drawn every Sunday in Cushinstow­n Church after 11.15 Mass.

TEA DAY

St Louis Day Care Centre are hosting their annual Alzheimer’s Tea Day on Thursday, May 3, from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. All proceeds go to the Alzheimer Society Of Ireland. Please Drop in and support this worthy cause.
