The Little Sea Musical Society are presenting a concert entitled the Rhythm Of the Sea in Carrig-on-Bannow Church on Friday, May 4, and also in the hall in Fethard-on-Sea on Saturday, May 12. Tickets available from the shop in Gusserane.

TINTERN TRAILS

Enjoy a Tintern Trails 5kg run, jog or walk on Sunday, April 29, starting at 11 a.m. Registrati­on from 10 a.m. at Vine Cottage, Saltmills. This event is hosted by the St Kearns Rowing Club.

LOTTO

Congratula­tions to Pat Conway of Coolroe on scooping the jackpot of 6,050eu in the Tintern lotto last week. The numbers drawn were 6, 14, 17 and 28. This week’s jackpot reverts back to €2,000.

BALLYCULLA­NE VEGGIES

Now that the summer time is here the Ballyculla­ne Veggie Growers are back meeting at 6.30 p.m. Tuesday evenings. Drop in and learn to grow organic vegetables and fruit in a community plot. TEA DAY

St Louis Day Care Centre are hosting their annual Tea Day in aid of Alzheimer’s on May 3 from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Please drop in and support a worthy cause.

CARDS

Winners in the hall in Gusserane last week were Alice Gaffney, Margaret O’Neill and Jamie Grangel. Second went to David Murphy, James McDonald and Pat Whelan. Third were Jim Kehoe, PJ Doyle and Matt Reville while fourth went to Brendan Colfer and Billy Shannon. LGD winners were Nick Doyle, Mick Reville and Willie Kehoe. Raffle winners were Brendan Colfer, Willie White, James Larkin and Tom Corcoran.

GAA CLUB NEWS

Well done to the Gusserane senior footballer­s and junior footballer­s who both registered championsh­ip wins over St James and Dasvidstow­nrespectiv­ely. The club would also like to thank all those who bought tickets recently in the club and County Draw for this year. The first of the three monthly draws takes place this week. ST KEARNS ROWING CLUB

Have you ever thought of trying some new? Try rowing in St Kearns. Coastal rowing is great fun and incredibly good exercise for everyone from 10 years to 100 years. Come along on Wednesday, May 2, at 7 p.m. to the St Kearns Shore to find out more. All you need is an old pair of runners.

LADIES’ FOOTBALL

Gusserane’s under-16 girls play Davidstown on Tuesday, April 24, in Davidstown at 6.45 p.m. Our intermedia­te ladies start their championsh­ip campaign at home to Kilmore on Tuesday, April 24, at 7.45 p.m. Well done to Aoife Cullen and Shauna Hackett on their performanc­e with Wexford’s under-16 team and to Ciara O’Connor with Wexford’s minors. Well done also to Aisling Murphy, Ciara Ryan and Aoife Drennan on their part in the National League semi-final last Sunday. All teams are back training now but please take note that it’s not to late to join the vibrant Gusserane Ladies’ Football club and you can contact any mentor or committee member if interested.

TEEN DISCO

There will be a teenage disco in Campile Hall on this coming Friday night, April 27, It caters for first to third year students. Doors open at 8 p.m. and admission is €8. Strictly no alcohol or drugs permitted and this is a fully supervised event.
