Huge congratula­tions to our under-13 boys’ team who have won Division 2a of the Wexford and District Schoolboys League. John Nagle’s charges topped the division with an incredible nine wins from 10 games to finish six points clear of their nearest rivals. A fantastic achievemen­t by a fantastic group of young men. These boys among others are the future of our club, and its clear to see that the future is bright. Well done John and all the chaps.

BEACH CLEAN UP

Cullenstow­n Beach clean-up Monday, May 7, at 7 p.m. Your support is always appreciate­d.

PARISH CLEAN UP

Since good weather is forecast. we will start the clean-up this week till end of April. The roads are littered with rubbish and we need to pick up as much of it as we can before the Grass and weeds start growing and covering it up. Bags available gloves etc from Nicola in PO. If people would take an area near them and organise to do a section of road and let us know that would be great. More help less work. Trailer will be in usual place for the rubbish till end of April.

RHYTHM OF THE SEA

The Little Sea Musical Society in associatio­n with the Kiltra school of music concert orchestra and guests present the ‘Rhythm of the sea’ concert in Carrig church on Friday, May 4, and in St Mary’s community hall Fethard-on-sea on Saturday, May 12. Tickets on sale in Kiltra school of music, Bredas corner shop Carrig, costcutter­s Wellington­bridge and Fethard post office.

LEGION OF MARY

Bannow Praesidium of the legion of Mary are holding their Acies ceremony in Carrig church on Wednesday, May 9, at 7.30 rosary and legion prayers followed by Mass. Tea will be served afterwards in the community centre all welcome. Coffee morning.

A coffee morning will be held in aid of Nurture Africa in John and Flora Daly’s house, Coolhull on Saturday, May 5, between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Their daughter Dearbhla will be spending three weeks teaching in Uganda this summer for Nurture Africa. Voluntary Housing

CEILI DANCING

A 100k or 40k cycle will take place on Sunday, May 6, from the church yard in Carrig-on-Bannow Starting at 9.45 a.m. There will be entertainm­ent from 5 p.m. that evening with bands from Normandy, Wales and Ireland. A day not to be missed.

Applicatio­ns for enrolment in the Early Interventi­on Class in the Teach Solais Centre for children with Autism are also invited for children with an ASD Diagnosis between the age of 3 and five years old.

FASHION SHOW

Fethard St Mogue’s GAA Club are holding a Fashion Show in St Mary’s Community Hall on Friday, May 11. Cheese and wine reception from 7.30 p.m. with show starting at 8 p.m. Fethard’s Finest will be taking to the catwalk. Tickets cost 15 and are available from post office, Dillon’s or from GAA Committee. Raffle on the night with several prizes on offer.

ST KEARNS ROWING CLUB

Give rowing a go, have you ever thought of trying some new? Coastal rowing is great fun and incredibly good exercise for everyone from 10 years to100 years. Come along tomorrow, Wednesday, May 2, at 7 p.m. at St Kearns Shore. All you need is an old pair of runners. St Kearns Rowing Club are also hosting an outdoor coffee morning/Introducto­ry Rowing Session (weather permitting) at St Kearns Shore, Bank Holiday Monday, May 7, from 11 a.m. Suitable for 10 years up, lifejacket provided, wear comfortabl­e sports gear and old runners. Followed by a club shore clean-up in conjunctio­n with Clean Coasts/Saltmills and St Kearns Community Group.

St Louis Day Care Centre are hosting their annual Alzheimer’s Tea Day on Thursday, May 3, from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. All proceeds go to the Alzheimer Society Of Ireland. Please Drop in and support this worthy cause.

The Division 1 Féile hurling final against Shelmalier­s took place last Sunday in Ferns Centre of Excellence where our under-14 Hurlers hoped to qualify for the National Féile na nGael competitio­n in Galway in June. Full report in next week’s paper. Our Féile Footballer­s are also through to the Division 1 Final.

Weekly lotto €5,000 There was no winner of last week’s Club lotto jackpot of €4,900 so next week’s jackpot stands at €5,000. The winning numbers 6, 17, 20 and 23. The club had one Luck Dip winner, Jack Waters, who won €30.

BLUEBELL CAFÉ

The Bluebell Café takes place on the first Wednesday of every month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in ‘The Tea Room’ at St Louis Day Care Centre, Ramsgrange. The café is open to people with dementia, their partners, carers, families and friends. Meet others with similar experience­s, enjoy a cup of tea and a chat, and speak with health and social care profession­als and other experience­d volunteers. St Kearns Rowing Club, Saltmills and St Kearns Community Group and Tintern Trails will come together on May 7 at 1 p.m. at Colclough Memorial Hall to take part in the National Spring Clean Up. We will clean the village and Shore Road and all help would be greatly appreciate­d. High Vis Jackets, Gloves and Bags will all be provided. If you can’t make it on the day, we would encourage you to try clean-up in your own area. We have a beautiful village, let’s try keep it that way.
