TIDY TOWNS

The recent church gate collection in aid of the Gusserane Tidy Village fundraised €367. The committee would like to thank all those who supported it.

TEA DAY

St Louis Day Care Centre are hosting their annual Tea Day in aid of Alzheimer’s on May 3 from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Please drop in and support a worthy cause.

OUTDOOR COFFEE MORNING

St Kearns Rowing Club are hosting an outdoor coffee morning/Introducto­ry Rowing Session (weather permitting) at St Kearns Shore on Bank Holiday Monday, May 7, from 11 a.m.

Suitable for 10 years upwards. A lifejacket will be provided but please wear comfortabl­e sports gear and old runners. This will be followed by a club shore clean-up in conjunctio­n with Clean Coasts/ Saltmills and St Kearns Community Group.

DRAW WINNER

Congratula­tions to Gusserane GAA club’s only winner in last week’s Club and County Draw. Kathleen Foran of Gusserane won €150. Two more monthly draws are still to come. Many thanks to all those who supported this year’s draw.

CARDS

Winners in the hall last week were Larry Larkin, Jimmy Larkin and Joe Ryan. Second went to Nick Doyle, Mick Reville and Willie Kehoe. Third was the team if Johnny Colfer. The last game draw went to David Murphy, James McDonald and Pat Whelan. Raffle winners were Jimmy Haughton, Josephine Maguire, Larry Larkin, Pat Murray and Peter Stafford.

MUSICAL SOCIETY

The Little Sea Musical Society are presenting a concert entitled the Rhythm Of the Sea in Carrig-on-Bannow Church on Friday, May 4, and also in the hall in Fethard-on-Sea on Saturday, May 12. Tickets available from the shop in Gusserane.

5K/10K FUN RUN/WALK

The annual Ballyculla­ne 5k/10k fun run/walk for children with diabetes at Wexford general hospital will be held on Monday, May 7, starting from the Tintern complex at 11 a.m., starting with regratatio­n from 9.30 a.m. to 10.45 a.m. Cost of entry is €10 per adult €5 per under-16 and family four €25.

KENNEDY CLASSIC RUN

Horeswood GAA Club is organising the Kennedy Classic Run/Walk on Saturday evening, June 23, from the GAA pitch to the Kennedy Homestead in Dunganstow­n. A six weeks couch to 6k program will start on Friday, May 4, at 7 p.m. at the GAA pitch. it will be a fun relaxed atmosphere with all levels catered for from 16 years up.

DOUBLE BINGO NIGHT

There will be a Special Double Bingo Night in Campile Hall on Bank holiday Monday night May 7, at which prize money for 9 of the 11 games will be doubled on the night which is over €2,100 in total. This is all for the normal admission price of double book €10, single book €7 and small book €3. All support would be very much appreciate­d. Alzheimer’s Tea day

5K SPONSORED WALK/RUN

The 5K Sponsored Walk/Run takes place in JFK Memorial Park and Arboretum on Sunday, May 20, at 10.30 a.m. We hope to raise funds for the on-going upkeep of the St Louis Day Care Centre. Registrati­on on the day or at gofundme.com/5k-sponsoredw­alkrun. Entry fee €10. Children under-16 free.

BLUEBELL CAFÉ

The Bluebell Café takes place on the first Wednesday of every month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in ‘The Tea Room’ at St Louis Day Care Centre, Ramsgrange. The café is open to people with dementia, their partners, carers, families and friends. Meet others with similar experience­s, enjoy a cup of tea and a chat, and speak with health and social care profession­als and other experience­d volunteers. There was no jackpot winner in the Tintern lotto draw last week. Three lucky punters matched three numbers and each received €134. They were; Paula McGrath c/o Alan. The St Leonards car boot sale will take place on bank holiday Monday next. Gates open at 7 a.m.

ST KEARNS ROWING CLUB

Give rowing a go – have you ever thought of trying something new? Coastal rowing is great fun and incredibly good exercise for everyone from 10 years to 100 years. Come along on Wednesday, May 2, at 7 p.m. at St Kearns Shore. All you need is an old pair of runners.
