Local Wexford stories will be featured at film fund event
A SEMINAR event will take place in Dublin this week aimed at establishing a filmmaking team to work on a project that will be screened in the Wexford area.
The Screen Directors Guild of Ireland (SDGI) in conjunction with Wexford County Council is inviting film directors and producers to the seminar where 10 writers who were involved with an initiative called Wexford Stories will give presentations.
The Wexford Stories 10k Film Fund Networking seminar is aimed specifically at screenwriters who participated in the Wexford Screenwriters Professional Development Workshops that took place last year.
For the successful team, composed of directors and one of the 10 featured writers, there will be a fund of €10,000 available along with €1,800 worth of equipment from Teach Solais. The winning team will also get mentoring and advice from film industry professionals.
The winning combination will be the team that creates the most dynamic and exciting proposal for a short film suitable for shooting in the Wexford region.
The networking seminar will take place in Brooks Hotel, Drury Street, Dublin, tomorrow, Wednesday, May 9, at 7 p.m.
The selected writers received professional mentoring from Eugene O’Brien, Paul Walker and David Keating.
