Get Hooked on seaside fun at family-friendly festival
THE HOOK Peninsula is the place to be this weekend when the ‘Hooked on the Sea Festival' takes place, kick starting a summer of activities in the area.
The festival is now in its third year andpromises to have something for exciting selection of marine the activities for all ages across the peninsula; including seafood specials, cookery demonstrations, kids workshops, water activities.
Children go free into many of the peninsula's main attractions. Activities on and off the water; paddle boarding, boat trips on the estuary, local produce picnics, foraging, sea-theme children's events and more.
Jane McWilliams from Hook Tourism said: ‘ This feelgood event of the summer has built up a reputation on the peninsula where activities are plentiful and all ages are catered for. It's a community event where local businesses have
worked together to create the Hooked on the Sea brand by offering discounts over the June Bank Holiday weekend.’
Brochures, complete with free face painting vouchers, are available for the action packed weekend in Hook Tourism’s tourist office in Duncannon or Fethard-on-Sea for your free copy.
Hook Tourism thanked Wexford County Council and Bord Iascaigh Mhara under the Fisheries Local Area Group for sponsoring the event.

As part of the Hooked on the Sea festival, special events at Hook Lighthouse take place on Sunday and Monday. Entertainment from The Wobbly Circus, a merry go round and swing boats, games on the lawns with Captain Hook and Pirate Pat as they host PirateFest from midday to 4 p.m. daily. Children are invited to come dressed as a pirate to win loot.
