NAME THE BRIDGE

The long awaited opportunit­y to name the N25 New Ross Bypass bridge will commence shortly. From May 28 up to July 6 the public are invited to make a submission to Kilkenny County Council at bridge@kilkennyco­co.ie. Submission forms will be available via the Kilkenny County Council website and also available from the Piltown Municipal District Office in Ferrybank.

A valid response to four questions is required to make a correct submission. Please note that copies, duplicates or incomplete forms will be disqualifi­ed. Completed forms should be sent to Kilkenny County Council, Piltown Municipal District, Ferrybank Area Office, Waterford.

RESTORATIO­N FUND

The Restoratio­n Fund Draw for St Mary’s Cathedral Kilkenny is now up and running for 2018/2019. Fr Dan Cavanagh has sent in three full cards from Rosbercon Parish to help in this fundraiser for the mother church in the diocese of Ossory. Bishop Farrell thanks the people of the parish for their continued generosity.

GAA NEWS

The Tullogher-Rosbercon Intermedia­te footballer­s qualified for the Kilkenny Final with a well-merited 2-12 to 2-4 victory over Thomastown. Played on the latter’s home ground a good all-round performanc­e by the visitors was good enough to eke out an eight-point winning margin.

CEMETERY MASSES

The first of the Parish Cemetery Masses in June take place in Ballyneale Cemetery on Tuesday, June 26, followed by Shanbogh on Thursday June 28 and Rosbercon New Cemetery on Friday, June 29, All Masses begin at 8 p.m.
