Bar/Lounge, Off-Licence & Orchard Beer Garden Wygram (Hill St.), Wexford Town WILLIAM Gaynor, John Gaynor’s grandfather, began trading in Wexford town and Taghmon in the early 1930’s. In 1968, the business moved from North Main St. Wexford, to the present day address of Wygram or “the top of Hill St.” as it’s more commonly know.

In those early days, the Bar was originally situated where the Grocery shop was later to be, at the front of the premises. Behind the business was a large, walled “secret” garden packed with apple and orange trees.

The Orchard Beer Garden has been the focus for the past few years and is now the largest, real beer garden in Wexford town, if not the county. Annette has created a beautiful, relaxing and interesting space which is perfect for just chilling out or for holding a party or staff get-together.

Whilst, John & Annette don’t offer meals as yet, they are more than willing to help arrange food for parties and have recently made Take Away Food Menus available in the Beer Garden. So if you fancy a bite to eat with your glass of wine, prosecco, beer or gin, you can enjoy a variety of take away food, al fresco.

Wygram is a house with a great history attached to it. The house was built by Mr. Maddocks in the 1800’s and was originally a three story thatched home. It had a livery yard where animals were kept during the Fairs in Hill Street. . It was the home of the Volunteers GAA club trophies.
