Clonroche-Poulpeasty Vintage club will hold a Tractor Run in aid of Donard NS on Friday evening, June 15, at 7 p.m. Tractors will assemble at Poulpeasty Church.

Local Link Wexford now offer a door to door service every Friday morning to New Ross. The bus is wheelchair accessible and can be pre-booked by call 053 9196276.

The service is open to everyone of all ages, it is suitable for anyone wanting to go shopping, health appointmen­ts, library or maybe students would like to access the Apex in New Ross during their school holidays. Free Travel pass are accepted, adult return €6, student return €3, children aged five or under travel free.

For the month of July all children and students of 18 years and under travel free on all Local Link Wexford services. Timetables are available in all the villages along the route, or on our website locallinkw­exford.ie.

DONARD NS FIELD EVENING

St Joseph’s school Donard are having its annual field evening on Friday, June 15, at 7 p.m. There will be lots of fun and lot of games with chances to win prizes, with tea, cakes and kids games and lots more – there is something for everybody.

CALVARY GRAVEYARD MASS

The annual Mass will take place in Calvary graveyard on Friday, June 15, at 8 p.m.

PUBLIC LIGHTING UPGRADE

Local Cllr Peter Chap Cleere has welcomed the news that almost 100 public lights in different housing estates in Graiguenam­anagh are to be upgraded this year to LED lights.

Originally, it had been confirmed that Brandon Park, Woodlands, Brandon Crescent, Cottage Gardens and Fairview were all due to be upgraded this year. However, following further representa­tions to have additional lighting upgraded.

Cllr Cleere is delighted to confirm that Duiske Crescent, Friars Hill and Cois Na Bearu housing estates are all now to have their public lighting upgraded this year. This will greatly benefit all of the residents and users of these estates.

DR TIERNEY PARK

Dr Tierney Park was officially opened by Kilkenny Co Board chairman Jimmy Walsh on a day what was probably the hottest day of the year drenched in glorious sunshine and was enjoyed by a big attendance.

Later a hurling under-21 friendly game was played between Kilkenny and Waterford and Kilkenny came out on top on a scoreline of Kilkenny 2-21 Waterford 4-11. The Kilkenny captain Tommy Walsh was presented with a Duiske Glass Bowl as a memento of the occasion.

LATIN MASS
