ORGANIC VEGGIE GROUP

The Ballyculla­ne Organic Veggie group would like to thank all those who came along to support the annual plant sale in the village hall in May.

Once again we had a good turn out and the profits enable us to fund the group’s activities throughout the year. If you are interested in growing/eating organicall­y grown vegetables why not join us on a Tuesday evening between 6.30 and 8.30 behind the Ballyculla­ne Village Hall. ST JAMES’ GAA

Golf classic – St James GAA will be running their bumper weekend of fundraisin­g activities starting with their annual golf classic in the New Ross Golf Club on July 13 – A team of four costs €140 including a post-round dinner. Barn dance – The day after the golf, July 14, they will be having their ‘much anticipate­d’ barn dance in its new location, Clonsharra­gh. Get your check shirts and cowboy hats ready because this is an event not to be missed. Music on the night will be by the Gentlemen Callers and DJ afterwards. Tickets cost €10 and can be bought in Flood’s Centra, Ramsgrange. Hope to see you there.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

LADIES GOLF SOCIETY

Abbey ladies took to New Ross Golf course last Saturday in glorious sunshine. A most enjoyable day was had by all with compliment­ing teams playing a scramble which eliminated any pressure that might be had by those not familiar with the long course.

Great scores were returned; 1st team of Bgt. Murphy, Isobel Tubritt and Mary Fogarty with 74.1. 2nd team Mary Rose Ryan, Grace O’ Mahoney and Liz Kelly with 75.1. 3rd team Eileen Wallace, Martina Reidy and Ann Crosbie with 76.2. Well done ladies.

Next outing takes place Friday 6 p.m., June 22 in Abbey Par three. Match Play is in full swing with Round two finishing on June 24. Good luck with your Matchplay and enjoy the golf.

KNOCK PILGRIMAGE
