LATE WATTIE POWER
The death occurred last Thursday of Wattie Power, Newtown, Fethard-on-Sea. A popular member of the community, Wattie’s ready smile and good humour endeared him to all who met him. Wattie was predeceased by his loving wife Maura and is sadly missed by his sons John and James and daughter Patricia, brothers John, Tom and Martin, sisters Eileen and Vera and by his daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Funeral Mass took place last Saturday in St Aidan’s Church, Poulfur followed by burial after in the new cemetery, Poulfur.
MID-SUMMER BAZAAR

FÉILE NA GAEL
Congratulations to our underhurlers who made it to the Division 1 quarter finals in the all-Ireland Féile na Gael competition in Galway last weekend. Having qualified from their group they faced Galway champions Turloughmore in the quarter final where they narrowly missed out on a 1-5 to 1-2 scoreline. Turloughmore went on to win the final and become all-Ireland champions. Fethard were hosted by Loughrea Hurling Club, who made it a memorable weekend for players and travelling supporters alike. Well done to players, mentors and supporters who represented our club and county with distinction.

The winners of the Progressive 45 card game in Colclough Hall, Saltmills last Sunday night were David Murphy, Georgie Foley and Siobhán Doyle. In second place were John Sinnott, James McDonald and Aidan Colfer. In third place were Pat Whelan, Joan Fardy and Maureen Eustace. The last game draw was won by Stasia Finn, Mary Doran and Kathleen Cadogan. The raffle winners were Kathleen Cadogan, Jack Waters, Siobhán Doyle and Tom Morrissey.
WEEKLY LOTTO
There was no winner of last week’s Club lotto jackpot of €5,600 so next week’s jackpot stands at €5,700. The numbers drawn were 18, 25, 28 and 31. The club had two Luck Dip winners, Mattie Hyland and Bodie White, who won €30 each.
CREATIVE EXCHANGE
The Creative Exchange Group meets in Colclough Hall, Saltmills each Friday 10 a.m. to pm. It is a drop in creative experience for those interested in working on personal projects and participating in group work. Hosted by the Saltmills St Kearns Community Group and supported by Colclough Hall Committee. We are now accepting donations of fabric, wools, threads and buttons to develop projects. Drop in any Friday.

Ramsgrange Horticulture Society held another very successful plant sale last Friday week. CAMPILE BINGO
There is a weekly game of bingo being held in Campile Hall every Monday night at 8.30 p.m. in aid of the ongoing development of the hall, with prize money of €1,250 approximately being paid out each night with a rolling in house lotto and Snowball also being played each night. We welcome each and every one senior citizens, young and children alike to try it and enjoy a great night out and win some money into the bargain.
