Horeswood road run goes right through the homestead

HORESWOOD GAA decided to adopt a novel approach to its fundraisin­g road run initiative by making the 12km route go through the Kennedy Homestead in Dunganstow­n.

Over 135 people took part in the event and they had the option of completing the full 12km route or opting for a shorter, 6km route.

One of the organisers, John Kenny, said it was a great event that was very well supported.

‘We had fantastic weather too which was brilliant,’ he said.

The winners list was composed of: Aedan Rogers (1st male); John McGrath (2nd male); Mick O’Gorman (1st male over 50); Isabelle Cairns (1st female); Ciara Bowe (2nd female) and Lorraine O’Brien (1st female over 50). The winners in the 6km event were composed of: 1st - Darragh Cloake; 2nd - Colin Carney; Alice Cullen - 1st female; Kitty Nolan- Quigley - 2nd female; Kate Foley - 1st U16; Ruby Hart - 2nd U16; Eanna Grennan - 1st U16 male and James Dempsey - 2nd U16 male.
