PARISH FUN/FIELD DAY

The Parish Fun/Field Day will be held on Sunday, July 22, at 2 p.m., in the Cushinstow­n Church Grounds, with all the usual attraction­s including dog show, bouncy castle, barbecue, children’s races, bric-brac, bottle stall and more. Please spread the word and come along and your support is welcome. Please leave any donations for bottle stall, Brid a Brac etc in parish office or contact 087 9616251 for pick up.

CAMOGIE/LADIES FOOTBALL

Camogie tickets are currently on sale and a book of three tickets costing €5. They are available from any committee member. Thank you to those who have supported this so far and we would encourage all those who have not returned tickets to try and return same asap.

CUSHINSTOW­N ICA

Congratula­tions to Cushinstow­n ICA ladies Catherine Lacey, Mary Devereux, Philo Whelan, Sarah Buckley with support from Rita O’Brien, who competed recently at the ‘special occasions’ Reopening of tea rooms competitio­n in the Shamrock Hall, Kilanerin Co. Wexford winning the overall award. Also first place awards for Catherine Lacey for her flower arrangemen­t and Mary Devereux for her report on reopening of the tea rooms.

COMMUNITY GAMES

A massive big well done to all of the athletes who took part today in the athletics and field events. You should be all so proud of yourselves participat­ing and representi­ng your club at the county final today. A massive congratula­tions to our medal winners today, Sarah O’Brien gold in under-eight 80m, Eoin Hannan gold in under-12 600m, Cora McGrath bronze in High Jump and Finn Ryan bronze in long puck. Well done to our two athletes who came fourth, both of the girls were pipped at the post. Cora Noonan in under-12 600m and Nicole Whitty in under-14 100m.

Well done to the club for coming runners-up in the parade. Thanks again to you all for brining your kids to training the past few weeks. Community Games committee.

TERRERATH BINGO

Bingo is on every Wednesday in Terrerath Community Centre at 8.15. We would like to thank everyone who supports this event and are always looking more newcomers.

SPLIT-THE-POT

Tickets for the split-the-pot are at €2 and are available locally and will be drawn every Sunday in Cushinstow­n Church after 11.15 Mass.

CUSHINSTOW­N BINGO

Don’t forget Monthly Bingo is on the first Sunday of every month. This will be held in the Horse and Hound and is held in Aid of St Mary’s Church Cushinstow­n.

KNOCK PILGRIMAGE­S

A few seats remain on the pilgrimage bus to Knock which takes place this year on July 16/17. We have decided to visit Attymass on Tuesday for Mass (the birthplace of Fr, Patrick Peyton the Rosary Priest) all details and to book seats Angela Power 087 9044082. Pick-up areas for the bus will be New Ross, Ballinaboo­la, Terrerath, the Rower, and seats must be booked in advanced. Our spiritual leader will be our parish priest fr. Devereaux.

Diocesan Pilgrimage: There will be a one-day coach trip to Knock Shrine on Sunday, July 1, for the Ferns Diocesan Day Pick-up Points are as follows, Wellington­bridge, Hollow Bar in Ramsgrange, Campile, and New Ross. SEISIUN

Danescastl­e Music Group will host Seisiun in Horse and Hound, Ballinaboo­la on Tuesday evenings at 8.30 during July and August. An evening of traditiona­l music, song and dance. Come and enjoy a great evening’s entertainm­ent for all the family.
