The weekly ‘30’ card game continues in the community centre this Friday, July 13, at 9 p.m. Thanks to the ladies for the tea last week; catering on Friday the 13th will be: Ann McDonald, Una McDonald and Sinéad O’Gorman; catering on Friday the 20th will be Ellen Furlong, Bridget Colfer and Margaret Furlong; catering on Friday the 27th will be Bernie Hickey, Evelyn O’Gorman and Ann O’Gorman. Proceeds going to parish funds. Card winners on Friday, June 29, were Nick Doyle, Andy Reville, John Murphy, Tom Rochford, Seán Cullen, John Nolan, Terry McDonald and Pat Byrne.

ADAMSTOWN LOTTO

The winning numbers in the Adamstown lotto draw on Friday, June 29, were 14, 20, 21 and 23. There was no jackpot winner and just one match three player who received €200, Kate and Paddy Rochford, Tomgarrow. Winning seller was Cait Bradley. The next draw is on Friday, July 13, in the community centre. Keep buying the tickets – don’t mind Friday the 13th.

NEW CEMETERY PATH

Work will begin on the laying of a new cement path along beside the church, as far as the toilet area, from Monday, July 16. All visitors to the cemetery are asked NOT to use the church entrance for the moment. The Cemetery Committee apologise for the temporary inconvenie­nce. annual patron will take place in St Abban’s Cemetery on Sunday, September 2.

ICA NEWS

Ladies, don’t forget Adamstown ICA Guilds summer outing to Waterford Crystal, Bishops Palace, Copper Coast and Bunmahon on Wednesday, July 18. Still time to book your seat on the bus. TIDY TOWNS

Some local residents have expressed an interest in starting up a Tidy Towns Committee in Adamstown. A meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 10, at 8 p.m. in the community centre. We would love to see you there.

BEREAVEMEN­T SUPPORT

A drop in bereavemen­t support group held in New Ross on the first Thursday of every month. The drop in centre is located in the Pastoral Centre on Robert Street on Thursday from 11 a.m. till midday. Why not come and join us for a cuppa.

ALL-IRELAND ROUNDERS

Congratula­tions and well dine to Therese Kidd and her newly formed Adamstown GAA ladies rounders team as they have reached the all-Ireland final with some recent brilliant wins over serious opposition. On Sunday, July 15, they will line out against the Heath club from Laois in the all-Ireland final which has been fixed for Longford. Support for the ladys would be most welcome.
