Gardai issue field fire warning following latest blaze

GARDAÍ are urging people to be extra vigilant when lighting anything near a field after a fire broke out in Clonmines near Wellingtonbridge on Wednesday.

The fire sparked to life at 8 p.m. in a field in the historic Clonmines area.

Sergeant Eddie Wilde said: ‘We are advising people to be very careful when burning anything and to be conscious of the damage that can be done considering the weather we are having. We don’t know yet what caused this fire but we are investigating.’
