No solution to water shortages

-

A MEETING with Irish Water officials in Wexford offered no well of hope for farmers who are after enduring one of the worst three seasons in living memory.

Councillors voiced concern that parts of the county are being affected worse than others. ‘It’s already serious for farmers but can affect every citizen in this county.’

Cllr Paddy Kavanagh said farmers are the sector will be hit hardest as they have their own wells, which they have to pay to maintain. He asked where Irish Water are and was told by Mr Enright that some of their officials attended a meeting that morning. ‘We have had discussions with them. There is a severe problem at the moment and they say it’s not going to get better quickly. Between the snow and now the heat it has been a tough year in terms of fodder. ’
